QuranRoots
Master Quranic vocabulary through root words, spaced repetition, and contextual study.
The Idea
The Quran uses approximately 50,000 words, but they all derive from just 1,642 Arabic root words. Learn the roots, and you unlock the meaning of the entire text.
Product Overview
QuranRoots uses the FSRS algorithm (the same spaced repetition system behind Anki v3) to schedule your reviews at the optimal time — right before you'd forget. The result: maximum retention with minimum daily effort.
Mastery Milestones
| Roots | Coverage | Level |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | 45.7% | Foundation |
| 100 | 60.5% | Intermediate |
| 250 | 80.0% | Advanced |
| 500 | 91.7% | Expert |
| 1,642 | 100% | Complete Mastery |
How to Use
1. Explore & Discover
Browse roots by frequency, tier, Juz, or revelation type. Search by Arabic, transliteration, or meaning. Bookmark roots you want to remember.
2. Add to Study Deck
Click "+ Add to Study" on any root. The FSRS algorithm will schedule it for review at the optimal time.
3. Daily Review
Open Study daily. Rate each card honestly: Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. The algorithm adapts to your memory.
4. Read in Context
Read any surah word-by-word. Click a word to see its root and add it directly to your study deck.
5. Test Yourself
Take quizzes in multiple choice, type-the-meaning, or root identification mode. Filter by recency or retention level.
